Countdown to the May Board Exam

The May Board Exam is fast approaching and you might find yourself in one of two mental states of mind:

  1. I am totally fine. I’ve got this. I have a plan, I’m confident, I am so going to smash this exam.
  2. Oh my ***** God, I have no idea where to even start. How does one go through 4 years worth of study material?

The ideal mental situation is to be somewhere in between. You don’t want to be overconfident, but you also don’t want to be panicking, as that has never helped anyone. We at St. Louis Review Centre are here to help you.

Attending your lectures regularly is already a step in the right direction, but we also want to give you some study plans and tips on how to use this portal to enhance and augment the review experience, and give you extra reassurance that you are using all possible measures to pass the board exam in May.

If you haven’t already done so, pay your tuition in full to get FREE access to this portal TODAY.

Then, we suggest you follow the following steps for the next couple of months.

February

Take a Proficiency Quest and allow us to analyse your strengths and weaknesses. This is good for identifying a starting point, especially since at this point, you probably do not have the time do a comprehensive review of every single subject.

Depending on the results, you should:

  • Do a comprehensive review of your weakest and 2nd weakest subject by taking one of our courses.
  • Go to our Student Quiz Builder and take at least 20 practice questions daily on your weakest and 2nd weakest subjects.

You can also take our Test-taking Strategy Course to get you started and so you can apply you knowledge to tackling the Comprehensive Exam, which is a repository of all the questions available on our test bank, arranged by subject. Start answering the questions on the comprehensive exam as soon as possible.

    March

There is an opportunity in March to do some thorough studying. If you haven’t finished the courses and modules for your weakest and 2nd weakest subjects, do so now. Remember that this portal is also available and just as responsive in its mobile version, so take every available opportunity to study.

For March, we recommend that you continue doing daily practice quizzes on your weakest subject using our quiz builder and at the same time, going through the Comprehensive Exams in order.

At the end of March, take another proficiency quest to check whether there’s been any improvement on your weak points.

    April

The first two weeks of April should be about refinement. You should have already taken another Proficiency Quest and seen some improvements on your weak points. At this point, you should also have finished most of the questions on the Comprehensive Exams.

You might also want to head over to Flash Review and under Daily Doubles, take some of our short, individual modules. We have made shorter courses on high-yield items. These modules take less than 20 minutes to finish.

On Daily Doubles, you can also access our Learning with Friends feature to help guide study group sessions. If you prefer to do it alone, you can also click the link to Brainscape and use the app and its powerful spaced-repetition system to answer simple recall questions on commonly-asked board exam items.

The last two weeks of April should be a time to wind down your studying by 50%. Take our Mock Boards and see how you do. Do a Final Proficiency Quest to see if you are now passing on all the subjects and if there’s anything you still need to work on, use the Quiz Builder to take a daily quiz.

Stop studying a week or at least three days before the board exam. Light a candle or whatever ritual or beliefs that bring you comfort and confidence, buy some lucky items, and most of all, TRUST IN YOURSELF and the effort that you have put in.

Remember that we are here to support you. As soon as you take your first Proficiency Quest, send us a screenshot of your results and let’s have a chat about what you can do to help improve it. Any one of your reviewers and those of us that man the portal will be more than happy to respond to your questions.

Message me anytime via the following means if you wish to speak to me personally about anything portal-related. I am always happy to hear from students.
